19th-century tortoiseshell veneer occasional table – France or Italy

Circular table with a reddish tortoiseshell veneered top, bordered by a gilt-bronze rim. The carved walnut base is supported by elegantly scrolling legs, with a decorative garlanded stretcher, complementing the scalloped surface. Likely French or Italian, c. 1850–1880.
